Like sands through the hourglass, THESE are the days of our LIVES!

Okay, so admittedly I am not a soap opera fan. Never have been, never will be. Of course my college roommate Jaime was such a freak that she scheduled her classes around Days of our Lives, so if I was in the room for lunch, I heard these familiar words resounding OH SO LOUDLY in the background while I was studying, talking on the phone, etc.
Today I opened my email and a friend had emailed me this photo of Noah from a camping trip they all took in July (Bryan went with the boys as I refused to go camping in FLORIDA in JULY with a two-month old!)

And as soon as I saw it, I was in my college dormroom again with those same old words booming at me - these ARE the days of our LIVES! I was so inspired I had to share this with you, and thought it would make a great blog challenge for PH too! So what I want to see from all of you is a LO of a day in your life, be it altogether ordinary or a moment that made you stop and think on one extraordinary day!
You will have until next Friday to complete this challenge (10/27) since I know you are frantically scrambling to finish your THIRTEEN CHALLENGES work and get it uploaded by Tuesday at midnight.
So go ahead. Grab a cup of coffee and a scrap of paper, and jot down what's in your head right now for this challenge! You will have time to develop the idea later but you don't want to lose that first instinct!
Go for it!!! Can't wait to see what you create!

Product Highlight- Buttons

Yes, they used to be the rage.. and now they are back.

This picture is of my son- standing next to three ballerinas! He looks all shy. And I wanted to highlight that. So I cut out the photo where he is. Then mounted in on chipboard. Then added the border of buttons to surround it. Its a good way to highlight something on a photo.

You can also use buttons as a funky accent on any layout- to accent flower centers, randomly mix them in with epoxies, brads and ribbons, Elsie style, back clear buttons with patterned paper to coordinate with your pictures.. and the list could go on....

More for the November Trilogy

Blogger unfortunately only allows five pictures per post, so here are some more!
Petaloo large brown and white polka dotted daisies, Making Memories 8 inch Brackets!, Fancy Pants flowers and rub-ons, Kewl Stuff Green with Envy brads, Li'l Davis Tinseltown album and flowers, and much much more!!!!!
Enjoy! :)

What's Coming in November!

As you know, the November Hybrid will contain the new Modern Romance line from Daisy Ds...
But I thought you might like to see some of what is coming up in the November Trilogy!
Okay I already told you that the Fancy Pants Free Spirit papers, as well as the coordinating rub-ons and flowers will be in the kit, but along with Fancy Pants, we will feature...
The new Flair Autumn Splendor papers! The papers are soooo perfect for fall - they are simply beautiful! Wait until you see them in person! Here are some photos...
(These are portional images rather than full page views of the papers)

To complement the Flair and Fancy Pants papers, we will be bringing you Petaloo flowers in two designs - large brown and white polka dot daisies with glittery centers, and a small assemblage of brown florettes.

8.5x11" Sketch Inspiration

It's time again for another 8.5x11" sketch inspiration and this time, I've decided to play with circles. Hence, here's a sketch that I came up:

As always, here's my take on the sketch. I've decided to add a bit of swirls and flourishes around the circles.

Materials:
HG Hybrid July kit
Autumn Leaves love stitches
Rhonna Farrer swirls and flourishes stamps
Basic Grey number monogram
Deluxe Designs chipboards
KCK acrylic letters

Your mission should you decide to take is, do a take on the sketch and upload to the Homegrown gallery. Have fun!

Another stamping technique for you!!

This one was quick and painless but has an awesome effect. I chose a stencil and taped it down to my cardstock. Then I inked over it using three different colors. Next I outlined the design with a pen and added a title! Voila! A simple, easy technique but lots of possiblities! My layout is inspired by the awesomely talented Maria Grace Abuzman.

Only 42 to go!

Well thankfully the September kit nightmare is almost over! Only 42 boxes to go out tomorrow and then every box is OUT THE DOOR at last! I've been packing and shipping for 8 days now - it normally doesn't take so long! I had prepped ahead of time of course, but my three helpers couldn't come this week and DH has been working extra hours so it has been all me! :)
And of course the packing has been going slower than normal as I have had to keep a detailed list of the doodle genies missing from each order so that when they do come in I can get them all out to you!
I wanted to let everyone know too that we are making a change to the November lineup! The Fancy Pants papers originally slotted fot the November Hybrid have been moved to the Trilogy, and in their place, we will be featuring the new Daisy D's MODERN ROMANCE line in our November Hybrid.
If you haven't seen these papers, they are simply STUNNING! And of course we have ordered the delicious rub-ons, playing cards, tags etc to complement the papers! Oh I am so excited about this kit - they are BEAUTIFUL designs!
Rich reds, browns, blues and greens make these papers perfect for fall! I know you will love them as much as we do! Here's a sneak peek of what you can expect!

A Magic Chant

by Samuel Exler

If in the dark you're frightened, Here's all you have to do.
Say: Igga bigga, Hunka bunka, Dinka danka doo.

These words give you protection From ghosts-and witches, too.
Say: Igga bigga, Hunka bunka, Dinka danka doo.

So if at night a monster Should whisper,"I'll get you,"
Yell: Igga bigga, hunka bunka, Dinka danka doo!
