First and foremost, I need to direct your attention to these three projects that have been added to the gallery in the past few days...

The first is by KathleenTaylor and is using the February Hybrid kit:

The second is by newcomer Neediena:

The third is a STUNNING clock overlay by Meera:

FABULOUS work ladies! Just amazing!

Aren't they great??? Thanks to our Spring Scraplift Challenge we have added 64 new photos to the gallery in the past week alone! If you haven't looked lately, you are definitely missing out - there is some amazing stuff in there!

Secondly, I need to say CONGRATULATIONS to scrappypantz who won the Autumn Leaves stamp set!!! Great job on all the hard work Kami!

Our next contest is for a canister of American Crafts plastic flowers. The competition is fierce though ;) so you'd better get going!

Thirdly, we are getting ready to kick off our Summer Survival Program. What is this you ask??? Well, it is a two month program we will be hosting over the Summer that comes complete with a packed kit of goodies and tons of inspiration and instruction to keep you scrapping all Summer and beyond. Scraplift/Spring Cleaning Challenge for April

The challenge is on! We are hosting a Scraplift/Spring Cleaning challenge for April and it is already in full swing!

This weekend's prize is an Autumn Leaves acrylic stamp set - Stamped and Coded. So are you up for the challenge????

Here are the details:

My original idea for a "spring cleaning" challenge was to have you use your stash.

Then I thought a "how many LOs can you do in a month?" challenge sounded fun.

But I'm going to make it even a bit more specific... So here's the challenge: Scrap as much as you can, and make good use of your scraplift-able resources here at Homegrown!

Points:

One point for every LO (8x8 or larger) that you complete between now and April 30.

A 2-page LO will count for 2 points.

Your LOs must be uploaded to your member gallery dated today or after to be counted.

Bonus points (2 per LO) for participating in the Challenge of the Week by Jeanne.

AND... if you scraplift another LO in the gallery - member or DT - and credit them for it, you will receive 2 additional points per page.

AND... the person who is scraplifted will be awarded the same bonus points.

So, to recap:

1. Scrap as much as you can beginning today.

2. 1 point per page - 2 page spread is worth 2 points

3. Scraplift and get bonus points for you AND the person you scraplift!

And I guess you'll want prizes...

*We will soon be announcing our Summer Survival Set that you CAN'T live without! All entrants - even if you only upload one LO - will be entered in the drawing (taking place in May)

*There will also be prizes awarded for the following:

Most Scraplifts (for the person who SCRAPLIFTS the most!)

Most Scrapliftable (for the person whose LOs rack up the highest number of scraplifts)

Most Scraplifted (for the LO that is scraplifted the most)

Most Layouts accomplished during the challenge (you're on your honor here as to whether or not they were completed after the challenge began - I don't care when they are STARTED - just when they are COMPLETED)

There will also be smaller prizes and RAKS handed out along the way.

And here's one more shocker: DT can participate too!!!! This one is for EVERYONE! :)

So get scrapping everyone!

This is good preparation to get those juices flowing before NSBD in May!!!!

For more information, check out the forum.

And check back frequently - you never know who may be scraplifting YOU! :)

I'll leave you with this scraplift of Kami (aka Scrappypantz) done by yours truly and using the April Trilogy kit
!
Happy April Everyone!

My newest dream...

Here is a photo of my newest dream! Keep in mind this was taken by me while I was driving past :)
This house is 109 years old, and totals over 5300 square feet without the basement! It has an outdoor dining area, a wrap-around balcony, and three porches. IT IS GORGEOUS! The inside is simply breathtaking!
So, you ask, why is this my dream? I want it to be a scrapbooking and crafting retreat center! And it is perfect for the task! The whole third floor is one big L-shaped "hobby room" that is PERFECT for large group crops - it would easily hold 8-10 long tables with tons of elbow room to spare.
It's perfect!!!
So my newest mission in life is to figure out how to make it work! Any ideas??? I'm all ears!

Delainey's FIRST brithday!

I know - I can't believe it either! It seriously feels like yesterday - I know people always say that, but I have never felt like a year flew by so fast!

I tried posting the pictures in the forum but am getting a broken link malfunction that I'm going to have to look into. But in the meantime, here are the pictures of our cake princess!

Finally back and better than ever!

We're officially in Indiana!
We arrived safely after a four day trip from Southern Florida to Northern Indiana and are busy setting up our new home. It is going VERY SLOWLY!!! We've never moved with three small children before and let me tell you we are like a herd of turtles! Not to mention it is currently -1 with the windchill, and the coldest these kids have ever been in is 40! :)
But they're learning quickly! Here's Eli's Snow Angel...

And here's Noah's...
And Bryan and the boys playing football in the snow in our front yard while I photograph from safely inside my warm dining room!
We LOVE it here! The snow is great and I love the cold. The kids especially are really enjoying it! :)
Our new home is 133 years old and so full of character. So many people have done so many AWFUL things to it while "decorating" ack! but we are here to rescue it!!!
Bryan is flying back home next week to tie up loose ends at work and with the house, so it will be just me and the three munchkins, packing and shipping kits. I haven't found the post office yet, so this may be interesting :). Our mail is delivered into a small red metal mailbox next to our door by a postman who walks and carries a bag! Forgive me for being so excited by this, but it is so indicative of how quaint this small town is that I am just thrilled to pieces! :)
I will post updates here next week on how the shipping is going - it looks like the kits will start going out on Wednesday since I'll be taking him to Chicago on Monday to catch his flight, and that will be an all-day affair.
In case you missed the news about our three new additions, we have added three new add-on kits to our monthly line-up. These new add-on kits coordinate with our Hybrid and Trilogy kits and contain tons of beautiful embellishments and tools to make playing with our yummy kits even more exciting!
Experience Shimmer for all that glitters and shines! Add a little bling to your creations with glitter rub-ons, shiny florals, pearl buckles, transparent overlays and more.

Adorn your pages with embellishments that will add more dimension to your project! This month we've put together a collection of ornate silver snowflakes, tons more buttons, decorative printed ribbons, and metallic brads full of panache!

And go all out with our Flourish kit! From tools like the Tia Bennett Doodle Tagged Acrylic Stamps and the best paint applicator you'll ever use, to rub-ons galore, this kit is brimming with possibility! Take a look and we're sure you'll agree that you simply must add a little flourish to your stash!
And last but not least, a sneak peek at March:

Happy Groundhog Day Everyone!!!!!

February Kit Preview

Stephanie is on her way to her new home in Indiana. It's a very exciting time for Homegrown because with her new home comes a huge building that will be dedicated to the club. This means better service, room for more goodies, and room for lots of help from friends and family. We are really excited about the upcoming February kits, which will be shipping out around the 5th. Woo Hoo! So, how about some peeks of what will be included?

In the Hybrid you will find the sweetest paper around, Autumn Leaves Holly Jolly line. It's so much fun and is so versatile for this time of year.

Here is a view of the whole line, some of which will not be included in the kit:

In the trilogy you will find more Autumn Leaves yumminess with some pieces from the Superstar Line:

This is the view of the whole line. Not all pieces will be included in the trilogy:

And, voted on by our members is the lovely Snowflake Park by Heidi Grace:
You can see the full line here, from which Stephanie has ordered some fabulous pieces:
http://www.heidigrace.com/tools/_viewcategory.aspx?type=primary&id=21

The trilogy will include one more line that will be announced soon. There will, also, be some very fun coordinating accessory packs to match the kits, just in case you need more goodies to compliment your packed kits.

We hope you are as excited as we are about the upcoming kits. February is going to be an exciting month at Homegrown.

Need A Quote?

Perhaps for cards or gift tags? I found a few that you could use during the holiday season and some that you can use all year round.

You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give. ~Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet

If instead of a gem, or even a flower, we should cast the gift of a loving thought into the heart of a friend, that would be giving as the angels give. ~George MacDonald

Love is, above all, the gift of oneself. ~Jean Anouilh

Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. And today? Today is a gift. That's why we call it the present. ~Babatunde Olatunji

Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful. ~Norman Vincent Peale

The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree: the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other. ~Burton Hillis

May Peace be your gift at Christmas and your blessing all year through! ~Author Unknown

Home Decor

Have you ever made anything for your house using your scrap supplies? Why not?
There are so many great products that can be used to crate wall decor, centerpieces and even accent items already in your home.

Here is a project created to hang in my guest bath using scrap supplies (papers are from the Dec Triology Kit) Basic Grey Blush PP and Bazzill Bling Cardstock.

The frame is from another Scrapbook Company -- Picture It! Page Frames www.scrapbookframe.com
Other items used: Maya Road Chipboard Swirls, Glitter, KI Letter Stickers.

I love that they have 12x12 acrylic frames to be able to hang up your layouts as well!

Did you know that you could use Rubons on a Mirror? They stay on when you clean the glass but, can be removed with a razor blade or even scotch tape when you want to change out a look. You could also do that technique on window!!!

Happy Creating!
